Our professional medical staff at The Bloom Medical Spa in Dallas, TX understands that some people just cannot eliminate problem bulges of fat even when they eat a healthy diet and exercise regularly. Thankfully, there is now a breakthrough procedure called CoolSculpting, which can help eliminate those stubborn sections of fat cells. CoolSculpting is a nonsurgical treatment that eliminates fat tissues under the skin in a procedure called cryolipolysis. This technique involves applying very cold temperatures precisely to the fat cells to dissolve them. The results are a slimmer, tighter silhouette that is free from stubborn fat. Emilee Perkins, NRCMA is the Coolsculpting Specialist for The Bloom Medical Spa and performs personal assessments, photography, and complimentary consultations for every Coolsculpting candidate.
This amazing, modern technology is very effective but not everyone is a good candidate for the benefits of CoolSculpting. It must be understood that CoolSculpting cannot address issues such as obesity. The procedure is designed to eliminate subcutaneous fat deposits that stubbornly persist in patients who follow a healthy diet and exercise regularly. CoolSculpting is used to eliminate subcutaneous fat deposits, identifiable as any location on the body where patients can easily grasp a fold of skin between their fingers. The places on the body where CoolSculpting works best are the “love handles”, deposits in and around the bra line, stubborn fat on the hips, and excess fatty tissues on both the inner and outer part of the thighs. When patients visit The Bloom Medical Spa, we will conduct a thorough consultation and physical assessment to see if CoolSculpting is right for their needs.
What To Expect
Approved by the FDA, the CoolSculpting procedure begins by using a small, handheld device that draws skin into a C-shaped compartment lined with metal plates. When the CoolSculpting machine is activated, the metal plates are chilled to a very low temperature just above the freezing mark. The device is safe to use because the temperature never gets low enough to damage skin cells but works because the cold causes fat cells to crystalize, shatter, and then be minimized. After one CoolSculpting treatment, the body’s immune system will take over and dispose of the shattered fat cells.
Because CoolSculpting is a safe, nonsurgical procedure, clients can resume normal activities following treatment. Any minor bruising or skin discomfort usually disappears within 1 – 2 days. Common side effects may include a small amount of skin discomfort in the area that has been treated, as well as some slight numbness or tingling sensations. Many of our clients are extremely happy with the positive changes that result from a single CoolSculpting treatment. Other times, it will require 2 or more treatments before clients can achieve the full results that best suit their needs. However, results usually take about 90 days to fully manifest and depend on the size of the area being treated. Expect to see these gradual improvements continue for the next few months.
